February is officially here and you know what that means – GALENTINE’S DAY is right around the corner!

February 14 might be the more well known holiday, but Galentine’s Day on February 13 can be even more fun and memorable. Initially born out of a Parks and Recreation episode, Galentine’s Day has evolved into a full-blown tradition for women to celebrate female friendship.

And what better way to do that than with a cozy girls’ night in? Given everyone’s hectic schedules these days, I can’t think of a better way to spend quality time with girlfriends than bonding in the comfort of your own home. And with the right planning and prep, home hangouts can be even more fun than going out! Think movie nights, baking, home spa treatments, wine and cheese, and everything else a girl could love, all in the comfort of your pajamas!

If you need Galentine’s Day ideas for food and activities for your Girls Night In, this post has got you covered. Whether you’re going for something low-key or extra AF, these 20 ideas will surely give you plenty of inspiration.

20 Galentine’s Day Ideas for the Ultimate Girl’s Night In:

Food & Drinks

1. Girl Dinner

From wine & cheese, to martinis & caviar, to charcuterie and tinned fish galore, I can’t think of a better type of meal for Galentine’s Day than GIRL DINNER! The only thing better than eating girl dinner alone is eating girl dinner with your friends who love a snack plate (with “not enough protein” 😜) just as much as you do. Even better, more people means more variety means you get to try more things!

Ask your guests to bring a couple of items to make it a potluck and reduce your preparation burden. If you want ideas on yummy girl dinner themes to try like Korean Banchan or Greek Style Mezze, check out these 12 yummy girl dinner ideas.

2. Cocktail (or Mocktail) Party

Who doesn’t love a fun cocktail (or mocktail) night? You could pick a theme and have everyone DIY or bring their own pre-made cocktail. Check out the Taylor Swift Eras cocktails in the video below to get your creative juices flowing!

3. Dessert Fest

The only thing better than 1 dessert, is twelve DESSERTS! Ask your guests to bring their own dessert and host a dessert fest! Indulge in delicious donuts, mochi, baked goods and more with your besties to celebrate the sweetness of friendship.

4. Breakfast for Dinner

Breakfast for dinner is ALWAYS fun, but doubly so if you’re having a sleepover for Galentine’s Day. Waffles, bacon & eggs, omelets, pancakes, baked goods – the options are as endless as they are scrumptious.

If you’re looking for a heartier breakfast for dinner option, I LOVE Filipino breakfasts, or “silogs”. Check out this scrumptious beef tapa recipe for an option your guests will LOVE.

5. Boba Bar

If you and your friends LOVE boba (and let’s be real, I don’t know anyone who doesn’t) why not make your very own boba bar at home? There are so many different toppings, juices, teas, and flavorings and you could have friends mix and match to come up with their own unique creations.

Some ideas for what you could include in your boba bar:

  • Toppings like regular honey boba, mango popping boba, grass jelly, nata de coco, flan or pudding
  • Creamy add – ins like oat milk, creamer, ice cream
  • Tea bases like black tea, jasmine tea, and oolong tea
  • Juices like yakult, mango juice, lemonade

Alternatively, I’m sure no one would complain if you just bought boba from the store too 😅.

6. Hot Chocolate Bar

You don’t have to be at a ski lodge to enjoy a yummy hot chocolate bar. A DIY hot chocolate is the perfect accompaniment to any cozy Girl’s Night In. Just provide some hot milk or water, a variety of types of hot chocolates (powdered, hot chocolate stir sticks, etc), and different toppings like marshmallows, whipped cream, sprinkles, chocolate wafer sticks, candy canes, caramel syrup and more.

7. Movie Theater Snack Fest

Turn your home into a classic movie theater by providing buttered popcorn, hot dogs, pretzels, gummy candies, chocolates and more. Enjoy these nostalgic snacks with your friends while indulging in some great films, which brings me to the next section….

Media and Entertainment

8. Rom-Com Binge Fest

I honestly can’t think of many things I like more than a rom-com binge fest with a group of girlfriends. As a kid, I used to binge classics like the Lizzie McGuire Movie, 13 Going on 30, and Freaky Friday with my best girlfriends during sleepovers.

Who says you can’t do the same as an adult? Some of my favorite crowd-pleaser rom-coms to watch include:

  • The Holiday
  • Crazy Rich Asians
  • Notting Hill
  • Crazy Stupid Love
  • Mamma Mia
  • 500 Days of Summer
  • To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before
  • And here are my top 5 favorite rom-coms from the 2020s if you’re looking for great, recent movies!

9. Female Friendship Classics

What better way to celebrate your bond with your closest female friends than watching some classic films and TV shows that celebrate the beauty of female bonds, in all their glorious complexity? I love binging these shows alone, but they honestly hit different with a group of girls:

  • Grace and Frankie (My favorite show of all time. This show makes me look forward to growing old honestly)
  • 80 for Brady
  • Dead to Me
  • Sex and the City
  • Girls

Rest & Relaxation

10. Spa night

What better way to get some quality R&R than a Spa Night at home. Ask your friends to bring their favorite face mask and some nail polish, and do face masks and manicures at home! Just provide your guests with some towels, Q-tips, and tissues, and you should be good to go.

These 2 masks are my absolute favorite. The Caudalie detox mask gets all the gunk out of your pores, and the Torriden mask is a great “reset” when you want to get your skin back to baseline health.

11. Tarot Card Reading

If you and your friends are into woo-woo spirituality and astrology as much as I am these days, this one’s perfect for you. Read each other’s tarot cards and help each other tackle life’s challenges by consulting the stars ✨. If you need some help on how to do tarot card readings, check out this basic guide!

12. Guided Meditation & Group Gratitude Journaling

Get into a meditative state with your friends by putting on a guided meditation and do some gratitude journaling as a group. This is a great way to put everyone in a positive frame of mind to truly treasure and enjoy each other’s company during your Girl’s Night.

13. Book Club

Whether you and your friends already have an ongoing book club or you haven’t cracked open a book in years, starting a book together could be a great relaxing Galentine’s Day activity. Pick something everyone is interested in (vote for a book together in advance), read the first chapter, and discuss! It’s a great way to bond with your friends and get to know a different side of them.

DIY & Crafts

14. Bake fest

One of my favorite things to do with friends is bake together. It’s a fun activity to bond over – active enough to keep your hands busy but not so active that you can’t chit chat while doing it. If you want to inject some more adrenaline, group into teams and make it a “competition” – cupcake wars, at home edition!

The best part is, you get to look forward to trying all bunch of yummy baked goods at the end of it. If you need ideas for recipes, Joy the Baker has the most CONSISTENTLY delicious, foolproof recipes. I’ve been making her recipes for over a decade and they never fail to delight (her super soft, pumpkin choc chip cookies are a must-bake for me every fall).

15. Candle Making

I don’t know any girl who DOESN’T like a nice, bougie scented candle (Le Labo’s Santal 26 is my kryptonite 😮‍💨). Why not get your girlfriends together and try to DIY your own at home? (emphasis on try 😆 – just kidding). I found this cool candle kit that makes 10 candles, complete with 10 different scents, 12 dyes, and 4 different types of dried flowers. Some reviewers said this was perfect activity for their girl’s nights, and got to bring home some amazing candles!

16. Paint & Sip

Paint & Sip has recently become a popular (and occasionally pricey) activity for couples to do recently. But you can easily host your own affordable alternative at home edition! Just buy a pack of canvases, some paint and brushes, crack open a bottle of wine, and you’re good to go.

You could find a reference image everyone is interested in painting together, or just get creative and paint whatever you want! To get everyone’s creative juices flowing, maybe pick a theme like “cocktails”, “flowers”, or “pet animals”.

For added fun, combine painting with wine tasting by letting everyone sample different wines while you work on your masterpieces 🍷 🎨.

17. Vision Board Making

You might have already made one right around New Year’s, but Lunar New Year just happened (on Jan 29) – so why not make another vision board for the year ahead with your besties? Ask everyone to bring photographs, printouts and magazines and provide cardboard, scissors and glue for everyone to make their vision boards and visualize their manifestations. You could go around and share with each other afterwards, or keep things private if that’s more your vibe.

Alternatively, if you prefer digital vision boards, ask everyone to bring a laptop or iPad, put on a good playlist, and design your dreams into reality together on Canva.

18. Galentine’s day card + Secret “Santa”

Who says Secret Santa has to be for Christmas? Host a “Secret Santa” for Galentine’s where each guest is pre-assigned another person to buy a gift for (within a certain price range). Then, during your party, you can provide materials for everyone to DIY their assigned person a heartfelt card. This can be a thoughtful and creative way for your friend group to share your appreciation for each other, and spread the love ❤️ .

19. Cozy Pillow Fort & Fairy Lights

Pillow forts & fairy lights aren’t just for kids – delight and surprise your friends by making one of your very own in your home! Throw blankets and pillows on the floor in front of your TV, and amp up the cozy vibes with plenty of lamps or fairy lights. Get comfy and cozy with each other while enjoying your Girl’s Night In bonding activities.

20. Flowers

What girl doesn’t love flowers? 🌸🌺🌻 Decorate your apartment with flowers and let your guests take them home as a small memento of the night! If you want to get super creative, you could even weave flower crowns together.

There you have it – 20 fun Galentine’s Day ideas to help you plan your next Girls Night In. Hope you and your friends enjoy, and let us know how it goes ❤️.
